Love it: Watercolour Tattoo
A year and a half ago, I came across a shot of a pastel watercolour tattoo on a girl's back and became obsessed with it. I couldn't stop thinking about it for a year. I started shopping around to different tattoo artists and found that my inspiration shot was probably Photoshopped or was airbrushed. My friend (who has an awesome Russian Firebird tattoo) recommended me to meet with her tattoo artist, Lemur. Besides being a tattoo artist, he creates these abstract paintings on the side. We talked about my vision and I gave him the go ahead to create a piece of abstract art on my back.
This was my first large tattoo and the pain was quite...wow. Maybe I am a wuss after all. Thankfully we were able to finish this in one session at just over three hours with just one touch up session afterwards. Although this tattoo isn't of anything but colours, it speaks to how I've had ten years of fine arts background which ultimately led me to studying design and landing my dream job.

Love it: Glow's Summer 2014
Are you obsessed with Orange is the New Black as I am? I'm counting down the days to June 6th for their second season to start. I can't get enough of Crazy Eyes! Check out our interview with Taylor Schilling in our summer issue. This issue I flexed my illustration muscles and drew out some options to cool down this summer and a story about a super healthy personal trainer who ignored the signs her body was giving her and had two minor heart attacks! On our last page, the very talented Paige styled Urban Decays Electric Pressed Pigment Palette so beautifully!
Lisa and Dave's Wedding Menu

The long awaited wedding finally arrived, I attended Lisa and Dave's wedding two weekends ago and had the honour of designing the dinner menu. We used one of my proposed ideas for the wedding invites that didn't get chosen and repurposed it for the menu. Dave found this great silver paper at Staples and we were able to just print on it with a laserjet and cut it ourselves. Such a simple DIY that turned out so great!
By the way, the antipasto bar was everything I dreamt it would be!
Throwback: Lisa and Dave's engagement invitation, save the dates and wedding invites.
love it: illustrations for May's Glow
For the May 2014 issue of Glow, I whipped up some quick illustrations of oral products you need to brighten your pearly whites for the summer!

love it: Lisa and Dave's wedding invitations
If you've been following my blog, you would have seen Lisa and Dave's engagement party invitation and their save the dates. All that's missing is their wedding invitations and voila! I kept to the theme of art deco and Charles Rennie Mackintosh's flowers. To fancy it up, I printed on black cardstock with silver pantone ink, I was very impressed with the result!
love it: Jonathan Adler
Daniel bought back for me from LA these adorable unicorn salt and pepper shakers by Jonathan Adler. He knows me too well, awesome box, check, unicorns, check, home decor, check. Did you know I've been wanting to dress up as a unicorn for the past three Halloweens?
I've always loved Jonathan Adler's designs and it's hard to say no to awesome packaging! Here are a couple of other items I love. I've been looking for a rug for my living room, this pattern would be perfect. While admiring my rug, I would drink earl grey out of this teapot. I would then prop my feet up on this pouf, and it's gold, my favourite colour!
