Dinner Party Series: Pizza and Wine

We almost skipped our dinner party this month because we are getting ready for our Asia trip but we decided to do something easy for just two friends of ours. For our third dinner party this year we decided to have good ol' pizza and wine.

Decor
I've seen the pizza pinata diy on pinterest so many times so that was the first decor that came to my mind. I scavenged for cardboard boxes in the garbage room and took me 3 evenings to make 3 pinatas. I learned that you don't need as many crepe streamers as you would think you need. I found a plastic bunting at the dollar store, I love these buntings, they make such a big impact. Lastly, I covered the coffee table with kraft paper, drew out plate settings along with our names and placed plants down the middle as the centrepiece. We also picked up cardboard pizza plates and red checkered napkins which was a nice added touch.

Menu
For appetizers, I whipped up guacamole again, it is my go to app of choice. This time, I mixed in yogurt with the avocado for a sweeter dip. Nicholas was in charge the pizzas, he experimented with using rice flour for the crust, it came out denser than regular pizza crust. He made two pizzas, one with prosciutto, shredded pork loin, basil, provolone cheese and anchovies. The second pizza was a white pizza with a milk yogurt sauce, artichoke, asparagus, provolone cheese and feta cheese. This was my favourite one. For dessert, Nick fried up some plantain and paired it with chocolate gelato.
