Love it : a very cheesy day
We started off today with a picnic at Eiffel tower with the cheeses we bought at rue montorgueil the day before and the cutest picnic supplies from Merci. We also popped by a pattiserie right before and picked up some herbs and cheese baguettes. The blue cheese was the smelliest and most delicious cheese I've ever had. the park in front of the eiffel tower is beautiful with perfect manicured trees and random musicians that play. I could just stay here all day long. Toronto needs one of these ASAP.
We shopped for a bit on rue de commerce and went to Les Cocottes , another restaurant by christian constant. We wanted to come here on our first night because my health editor had recommended it but they had a huge line up. We both ended up having cocottes, I had a potato and cod one and Dom had a cod fennel one. Both very delish!
We went to Notre dame after for a photo op and strolled around the area where we came across a cute chocolate place, Maison Larnicol. We loaded ourselves with chocolate and two yummy macarons.
We initially wanted to go to heureux de alexandre for fondu but they were closed after lunch. We ended up at one around the corner with decor that reminded me of Canada in the eyes of Americans. I was in a log cabin with moose and deer heads. We got the three cheese fondu which came with cured meats, bread and potatoes for dipping.
We went to Bon marche afterward to ogle at pretty clothes, well designed furniture and stationary.
We also made our way to colette to pick up my jean paul gaultier coke bottles! I walked like a mad woman and got there 15 mins before they closed. I remembered the same scenario happened the last time I was in Paris two years ago for the Karl lagerfeld bottles. Now Karl will have a friend on my bookshelf!
After such a cheesy and glutinous day, we ended off dinner with just six escargots, a chocolate pastry, ice cream crepe and loads of wine.
