eat it: Richmond, B.C. Edition

Richmond felt like I had landed in a Chinese city but I was in Canada. There were an abundant of Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese food is meant to be shared so thank goodness I had my extended family of 18 to order lots of food with at Chen's Shanghainese Restaurant. If you're not familiar with Shanghainese food, don't leave without ordering Shanghainese dumplings. The key to eating these dumplings without burning your tongue is to put the dumpling on a spoon, bite off a bit of the top of the dumpling and slurp the soup. Then proceed to eat the rest. Also don't forget to order the dan dan noodles, bean sauce noodles, red bean souffle (my dad's favourite dessert!)

I grew up eating egg waffles, they're made of an egg batter poured over a griddle to form "bubbles." I was in the Aberdeen Centre's food court when I laid eyes on Bubble Waffle Cafe. They don't just do regular egg waffles, they do it with filling! They come in cheese, chocolate, oreo, strawberry, sesame and green tea. I tried the oreo (pictured), chocolate and cheese and the cheese beats the other two by far. So far, I had it three times in one week.
