Dinner Party Series: Meatballs and Pasta

Oh Happy Day's goal last year was to host 52 dinner parties. She ended up having 42 parties but still, that sounds like an insane amount of work! Nick and I haven't hosted too much, just an annual friend's Christmas dinner but it looks like we've been bitten with the dinner party bug. This year, we hope to host one every month. It'll be good for us to work on our team work, for me to flex my decor skills and for him to make the guests and I some delicious grub! To start off, we had my cousins over at the end of December. I made a simple cheese plate and a Caesar salad. I was so proud of myself for making the dressing from scratch! I had to do some substitutions, so instead of croutons, it was toasted sunflower seeds and instead of bacon, it was spicy Chinese pork jerky I got from my mom for Christmas. It added a nice kick to the salad! For the main course, Nick made a giant pot of pasta and home made turkey meatballs. Simple and hearty.

We ended the night playing Charades and Coup, have you played it? It gets competitive fast! With 12 dinner parties to go this year, I better start reading up on some tips and tricks!
