do it: Spa My Blend

Between juggling two full time jobs, drawing on mirrors and painting posters for brides and getting ready for the holidays, I was desperate for some r&r. And what more relaxed could we be than at a spa? Nick and I booked massages at Spa My Blend at the Ritz Carlton two weekends ago. Upon signing in, we were led on a tour of the amenities of the spa. There were locker rooms with same sex jacuzzi, steam room, sauna room, showers, lounge and bathrooms. There was also a co ed lounge area with cozy love seats and loungers where you can snack on dried fruits, nuts, chocolates and granola bars while sipping tea or fruit infused water. There was also an area where it featured all of Clarins' beauty products, from toners, to eye cream to cleansers as well as mens products.  We also had access to the salt water pool.

We arrived at the spa at 4:30pm on a Saturday and found it to be quite busy. I relaxed in the steam room and jacuzzi before waiting in the co ed lounge area for my masseuse to come get me at 6pm for my massage. I opted for a Swedish massage and Nick had the hot stone massage. My masseuse was great and really got out the kinks in my neck. Afterwards, I was happy to see that the spa had cleared out a bit and Nick and I settled in to a love seat in the lounge and read magazines and snacked on the fruit and nuts. Their showers were amazing, they had six jets coming from three different direction as well as an overhead rain shower head, I even took two showers during my time there. Afterwards, I had fun trying out the different Clarins products.

My tips are to come later in the evening so there are less people, load up your ipad with magazines and books and I would probably come back next time with my girlfriends instead of Nick because we could only spend time together in the co ed lounge since the jacuzzis, steam rooms and saunas are same sex.
