DIY it: A Flower Crown For Your Bike
I am so tired of this winter! It just keeps dragging on and on and on. Just when we get one Saturday of sunshine, we are hit with a whole week of hail, wind and freezing temperature. I got my bike out last weekend to prep for spring time, the usual pumping of the tires and oiling of the gears. I thought about how the weather was still so depressing and wanted to jazz up my bike to cheer up my spirits! Who doesn't smile when they see a bouquet of flowers? This is a simple and cheap DIY that only took me half an hour to do and it was under $15.
Materials (I got them all at the dollar store):
• 5 bundles of flowers
• thick green wire
• green wire tape
1. Cut off the flowers leaving 3"-4" of stem.
2. Take two to three flowers and gather them at the bottom and wrap the wire tape around them to secure it together (just like how you would make boutonnieres).
3. Cut and wrap around the thick green wire to create an arch on your handle bar. (I later secured the wire where I wrapped around the handle with the wire tape.)
4-6. Place the bunches of flowers along the wire and secure it with the wire tape. Continue until you are happy with the way it looks!
I have gotten so many smiles and people saying how my bike is a ray of sunshine in just a week and it brightens my day up whenever I ride it.
